Project {365}

2010 was such a great year for me.  It was Perry's first full year of life from January to December, and we could not have had more fun together!  Having made so many wonderful memories last year, it was a little hard to let go of 2010, but I know 2011 has got a LOT of exciting things in store for me and my family.

This year is especially exciting for Justin, Me, and Mr. Perry because we plan to submit our adoption application this year!!  This has been a dream of mine for sooooooo long!! Thankfully, Justin quickly jumped on the bandwagon and is just as excited for this new adventure!

Another reason I am looking forward to 2011 is that I've been working SO hard on my photography skills, and I finally feel like I'm taking a few steps forward.  I've been working especially hard on my post processing skills.  So in order to (hopefully) improve my photog skills, I have embarked on a little project called Project 365.  I will AIM to take one photo every day of this year.  Justin jokes that I shouldn't have a difficult time achieving this goal seeing as how I've taken so many pictures of Perry that I could flip through them and see him grow right before our very eyes!  Neither here nor there, I can't wait to keep you updated on all my progress.

So to start P365, here is my Happy New Years Photo:

What a great project! Some friends of ours did that last year. Here is a link to their blog. http://wilke365.wordpress.com/ I liked how she did a little watermark on each photo to keep up with what day of the year it was. And this past year she just made sure to take pictures every week, I think, and had a little watermark for that, too. Here is that link. http://wilkefamily.wordpress.com/2010/09/23/week-32-aug-6-12/

Are you using photoshop?

I am really excited about it! Thanks for the links. Right now, I am using a trial of photoshop. Sadly, it ends in 14 days. I really would like to buy it, but it comes with a pretty hefty pricetag, even with my teacher discount. I'm pretty sure I'll bite the bullet and get it, but if you know of any good editing software for a better price, I'm certainly all ears! Have you started your camera class yet? There's a photoshop class offered by Samford that starts in March that I'm thinking about taking. Wanted to let you know about it in case you are interested. Hope to see ya'll soon! Happy New Year!! :)

He is PRECIOUS!! Congrats on your 365! I would love to try it, but I know I will never make it. I look forward to seeing your pictures:)

If you are looking for classes, watch my blog the next few weeks. I am going to be starting my online classes again. Just thought I would mention it in case you are interested:)

You had asked about the collage, cutouts I used on my blog the other day. I use photoshop and they were a free action/download from Rita at Coffeeshop Photography. If you have any other questions, let me know. You can email me: visionsbylisa at gmail dot com.

Happy New Year! I hope 2011 brings lots of good things to you and your family.

xoxo,

Lisa

We will have to pray each other through the 365 and the Bible reading. Good for you to take on both!!!!

Brooke, I really enjoyed the class! I want to do a blog post on it, but haven't had time yet. I was very basic but that is what I needed!

I don't know of any good photo editing software besides Photoshop (which I know nothing about and am intimidated by). I'd definitely be interested in taking a class. I have no aspirations to become any sort of professional, but I do love taking (or trying to take) good pictures, and I think being able to edit them would be great! I think Photoshop Elements is supposed to be more reasonably priced, but it may be too basic for you. I really don't know anything about it.
