We live in Alabama, where each year, we typically experience 3 seasons. The school books would say 4, but generally, its cool, warm, HOT, repeat. So when local meteorologists predicted snow for this week, most didn't think twice about it. It's a nice thought, but it won't come to pass kind of thinking.
However, by 12:00 noon yesterday, it was what we Bamians would categorize as a blizzard. For real. We're talking snow EVERYWHERE! Like, a whole TWO INCHES or so! ;)
Which called for snuggly clothes and school letting out early! But, not early enough to prevent havoc on all major roadways. It took me about twenty minutes to drive the normal 3 minute drive home. Wrecks everywhere, roads closed, people being stuck at work/school. It was a disaster. I have NO idea how you Northerners do this with such eloquence.
But, despite the frustration the snow was causing many adults, it was so magical for Perry. He had an absolute blast!
From balling up the snow, throwing it, kicking it, making an obligatory snowman, and clearing it with his heavy machinery, this little boy could not get enough!
His smile was as bright as the snow!
Justin and I were FREEZING!! Afterall, we don't exactly have much 'winter wear' stocked up in our closets. Soaking wet Ugg boats were as good as it got for me.
But seeing the wonder in Perry's eyes made it all worth it.
Though your sins are like scarlet, I will make them white as snow. ~Isaiah 1:18

LOVE! You are so lucky. We never get the snow either... it's been a consistent 32 degrees here for about a week - but NO snow! How fair is that?? ;)

So lovely - love that birdhouse!!!
So much fun, and you captured it all fabulously!! Speaking as a 'Northerner' we have lots of practice driving in snow and dealing with it. Happy you could experience a snow day.
Gorgeous...loving those snow photos! How fun!
Snow is always magical for the kids. :) My husband and I were both feeling really cold, the wind was SO chilly, but the kids were having all kinds of fun and didn't seem to mind the cold at all... so we just stayed out a while longer than we normally would have. SO magical to see the joy on their faces as they delight in the snow. :)
